What I teach

Introduction to Yoga

We'll go very slowly through a Sun Salutation, the most common sequence used for warming up the body as it moves each major muscle group and joint. We'll explore the alignment of each body part in each pose, and I'll explain the way your body should feel from head to toe in each position. You'll understand what the pose should look like in your body with your unique proportions.

By the end of a session, you will have explored and warmed up your body, reset your nervous system, made time for yourself, and have a solid understanding of what to expect if you were to drop into a yoga class.

Vinyasa (Yang)

This is an active practice (yang) where you can expect to work on balance and strength while pairing each movement with a breath. You'll build muscle, generate heat, sweat out toxins, and open your body up. We can focus on a physical goal or pose if you have one in mind.

By the end of a session, you will have explored and warmed up your body, reset your nervous system, made time for yourself, and have banked a solid workout. Now you can balance with some snacks and not feel guilty.

Chill Out (Yin)

This is a passive practice (yin) where you can expect to work on mobility, flexibility, and being present. After spending a whole minute getting into each pose, carefully placing blocks, bolsters, straps, and blankets, we'll stay there for five to ten minutes. This practice goes deep into the areas under and around your muscles, including the tendons, ligaments, fascia, and joints, resulting in increased mobility and flexibility.

By the end of a session, you will have brought blood to all the crusty parts of your body, reset your nervous system, feel incredibly rested, and maybe even have fallen asleep for a moment.
